Welcome to year 6, this year will be filled with excitement, anticipation and hard work!!
Welcome to Year 6, this will probably be the hardest year in primary school but if you work hard the rewards will be immense!
The first exciting treat is the opportunity to take part in Bikeability on Thursdays 14th and 21st September - a whole day learning how to ride confidently and safely around the neighbourhood. Don't forget to wear warm clothes and a waterproof jacket - you will be outdoors ALL DAY!
There is an opportunity to go on the exciting residential trip to Ambleside where you'll stay in a youth hostel for two nights, climb mountains, scramble up ghylls and canoe across a lake.
Like some fairground rides state, "You may get wet, you will get soaked!"
It is VITALLY important that children are in school every day this year, the expectations set by school and the government for year 6 pupils are very high and often there is only one chance to learn each topic covered. Of course we appreciate that all children are ill at sometime, please inform the office if your child is unable to come to school on the FIRST day of absence. If your child is going to be off for a longer period of time please call in and we will arrange work to be completed at home.
As you are aware this year children have been split into 3 groups most mornings for English and maths to target the correct support they need; classes are led by Miss Philpotts, Mrs Pollitt and Mrs Parry
