Summer Term 2019
Summer term brings lots of excitement with a visit to Chester Zoo. This is part of the Science curriculum and will give children ‘real’ opportunity to classify the different types of animals such as: amphibians, reptiles, mammals and insects. From now until June children will be consolidating their phonics knowledge in preparation for the National phonics screening.
Following two terms of working with numbers 1-100, children will be tackling ‘real-life’ problem solving using the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
Chester Zoo visit- July 1st.
In English we had been looking at Fantasy Stories and information texts.
Welcome to Year 1 Welcome to Year 1
We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day. The children dressed up as their favourite characters and we had lots of fun taking part in a parade, book quiz and completing book reviews on our favourite stories. Follow @mrscottom and @year2ksl and mrs_pollitt on Twitter.
Please try to read a bedtime story with your child every night. This will help develop their love of books which will support and develop their language.
PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Don't forget Kits.
Please ensure your child brings in their book bag to be changed on Fridays and try to read with them at home every night. This is as well as their bedtime story.
