Spring Term 2019
Spring term brings a set of new challenges to Year 1 as the children develop their independence skills. We have lots of exciting things to look forward to to and are looking forward to warmer weather.
We hope you can make it to Year 1 Family Assembly. This will take place in the hall on Thursday 14th March at 9.15am.
In English we had been looking at Traditional Takes. Here are just some of the stories we have read.
Welcome to Year 1 Welcome to Year 1
We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day. The children dressed up as their favourite characters and we had lots of fun taking part in a parade, book quiz and completing book reviews on our favourite stories. Follow @mrscottom and @year2ksl and mrs_pollitt on Twitter.
Please try to read a bedtime story with your child every night. This will help develop their love of books which will support and develop their language.
In maths we are learning to count forwards and backwards in 2s,5s and 10s. Please practice this st home with your child.
PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Don't forget Kits.
Please ensure your child brings in their book bag to be changed on Fridays and try to read with them at home every night. Thus is as well as their bedtime story.
Wednesday: Spelling test, PE
