Personal, Business and Pecuniary Interests Register
All the governors of Kirkdale Saint Lawrence Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School listed above have signed the Register of Personal, Business and Pecuniary Interests.
- This is a declaration of any personal or business interest they or any relative or person closely connected with them, have with businesses or other organisations that may have dealings with the school. This could for example include owning or having a relative work for a business that had dealings with school; having a relative working in or for schools or being a governor of another school.
- If any interest a governor has, could be seen to cause a conflict of interest they would be asked to withdraw from any decision making concerned. This is to ensure that our governors can always be seen to be putting the interest of the school first.
- If there is a potential conflict it is shown.

Governors Information and Duties:
The Governing Body is responsible for raising school standards through their four strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the schools and its pupils
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and ensuring its money is well spent
- Acting as its own admission authority, setting policies, making decisions and defending admission appeals.
The Governing Body works in partnership with:
Our churches, St Lawrence's and St Paul's, Kirkdale;
Our Head Teacher, our staff, our parents;
The Liverpool Diocese;
The Local Authroity;
As a body we meet regularly and our members are involved in dealing with the school's finance, personnel and performance, admissions, premises, vision and values, standards and quality. The school development plan supports this process.
A lot of work goes on outside of the formal meetings and committees with governors scrutinising results, visiting classes and events, speaking to teachers, parents and staff, attending training, receiving reports and updates from the Head Teacher and ensuring they know every aspect of the school.
Our governors work to agreed Terms of Reference which are reviewed each year. These set out the duties and responsibilities in detail and which they agree to follow each year.
A number of the governors have a particular interest and responsibility for an area of the curriculum and meet regularly to discuss this area with key staff.
The governors are supported in their work by the clerk who attends meetings in a non-voting capacity.
Clerk to the Governing Body
Mr T Brown
