Physical Education

At Kirkdale St Lawrence, our Physical Education curriculum inspires pupils to enjoy being active, develop their physical skills and understand the importance of physical activity for a healthy lifestyle. Through our Anchor Curriculum, pupils develop a broad range of physical skills, including coordination, balance, agility, strength and stamina, while learning how to work effectively with others.

PE provides children with opportunities to participate in a wide range of individual and team activities. Pupils develop their ability to perform, practise and refine skills, apply tactics and strategies, and evaluate their own and others' performance. We also promote the values of teamwork, resilience, respect, determination and sportsmanship.

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced so that pupils revisit and develop their physical skills throughout their time at Kirkdale St Lawrence, building confidence and competence as they progress through the school.

We are so proud to be awarded the Gold School Games Mark for the fantastic PE in our school for two years running!

In our school, our vision is to give children a PE curriculum which will introduce and inspire them to take part in a range of different sports and activities.
