Further Information About the Curriculum
For families who would like to explore our curriculum in more depth, additional information is available on request. We are happy to provide curriculum overviews, subject progression documents, and details about how learning is sequenced across each year group. If you would like to know more about any aspect of our provision, please contact the school office, and a member of staff will be pleased to support you.
The National Curriculum is just one part of your child’s education. At our school, we make sure every child, whatever their starting point, has the chance to experience a rich, varied and inspiring curriculum. We build time into each day, week and term for children to explore learning beyond the National Curriculum so they can discover their strengths, develop new interests and feel proud of what they achieve. If you would like to read more about the National Curriculum itself, you can follow this link: National curriculum - GOV.UK
The National Curriculum sets out the essential knowledge children should learn, and our teachers use this as a foundation to create engaging, meaningful lessons that reflect the needs and experiences of our community. Our curriculum is designed to remove barriers, promote equality of opportunity and ensure that every child, regardless of background, can thrive. Staff have developed detailed long‑term curriculum maps for each year group, showing what children will be learning across the year and how knowledge and skills build over time.
If you would like to know more about our curriculum or how we support all learners to succeed, please contact Mrs Cottom, our Curriculum Lead, who will be happy to help.
