Mental Health and Well-Being

Supporting Children’s Mental Health

Being mentally healthy during childhood means reaching developmental and emotional milestones and learning healthy social skills and how to cope when there are problems. Mentally healthy children have a positive quality of life and can function well at home, in school, and in their communities.

At Kirkdale St Lawrence we recognise that our children's is mental health is of paramount importance and strive to support good mental health within our school.

Regular activities and events are planned into the school day  to ensure our children recognise the importance of mental health and how they can build the resilience they need to support them.

Breakfast Club made paper chains of all the things they were 'connected' with during Childrens' Mental Health Week 2023.

Children in Reception read the book 'Bottled' which highlighted the importance of sharing how we feel.
